If you don’t know how to use beard oil, don’t worry - you’re not alone. I get this question all the time in the barbershop.
The first thing you need to know is WHY to use a beard oil. It’s main purpose is to soften and moisturize your beard and the skin underneath. This keeps dandruff don’t, keeps the beard from itching, and helps it feel nice and soft.
Some people use way too much oil. You only need about a nickel or quarter size amount in the palm. You don’t need a small pond of oil in your palm for it to be effective.
Once you have the oil in your hands, rub them together to get an equal spread, then apply the oil underneath the beard directly to the skin. Massage the oil into the skin underneath the beard until you feel like you have it spread evenly.
Run the last bit over the top of your beard and comb it all through.
A lot of people tell me that other oils make their beard too shiny or greasy but most of that reason is because they’re applying the oil to the top layer of the beard without getting down to the skin on the face.
Follow these steps and your beard will be healthy and feel amazing! It’ll smell good too.
We make beard oil in a few scents. Check them out here.
Pipe tobacco is our best selling scent by far so you may want to try that one first!
How often should I get a haircut? Most people think it’s time to get a haircut when the hair over your ears is bothering you and the back of your neck makes you look like you’re morphing into a werewolf under a full moon. By that time, you’re actually overdue for a haircut.
