my end goal for anyone who sits in my chair, is to love the services provided. with that being said I always want to make sure we’re on the same page before any services are started.
before i became a master barber, i worked on my craft in salons, mainly focused on coloring (fashion colors, natural colors) and blonding looks.
i spend my free time watching and learning new trends as they evolve, so i’m very familiar with the “tiktok looks”
i’m very passionate about big hair! anything from shags, layered cuts, to burst fades. i love being creative, working outside the box, and doing transformational haircuts. it’s so exciting to be a part of big changes!

jack grew up in boone, north carolina, surrounded by the blue ridge mountains, where he developed an appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, and individuality.
drawn to a creative career from an early age, he was inspired to pursue the beauty industry by his grandmother, who owned a salon in belgium.
outside the shop, he enjoys exploring coffee shops, playing guitar, caring for his plants, hiking, and riding his bike on the swamp rabbit trail.

i start every service with a thorough consultation-taking the time to understand your goals, what’s working with your hair, and what’s not.
together, we’ll create a cut that complements your hair type, head shape, and growth patterns, while aligning with your personal style.i enjoy working with all hair types, long and short, and focus on giving each client exactly what they’re looking for. i believe an important part of my craft is staying current with trends while continuing to execute timeless, well-balanced styles.beyond the haircut itself, I value connection and conversation, and take pride in building lasting relationships with every client who sits in my chair.

owner + founder of MAILROOM
robert started cutting his own hair in 2012 because he couldn’t find a barber that understood the style he wanted.
he entered an apprenticeship at a barbershop shortly afterward and founded MAILROOM in 2014. his training in precision haircutting includes GLASSBOX in toronto, SASSOON academy in london, a private mentorship with charlie gray of HAIR IN MOTION, formerly of MENSPIRE, and many hours of online education and private cutting classes.
if he’s not cutting hair, teaching, or behind a laptop at a coffee shop, he's probably mountain biking or drinking tea and reading a good book with his partner.

overall, my work is gender neutral as I aim to design a haircut that suits your personal style, bone structure, and grooming routine or lack thereof.
I specialize in two main categories of long, medium, or short precision haircuts.
1. choppy, edgy, texturized haircuts like crops, pixies, mixies, shags, mullets, and mods are my favorite to work with. I love doing haircuts that look like they wouldn't have a specific name because it's so unique to you.
2. i have a love for the classic, smooth, structural haircuts like pompadours, bald fades, and tapers that got me into the hair industry over a decade ago.
i also have a strong eye for beard shaping and creating sharp line-ups for afro texture hair.

cancellation or reschedule
Cancellations or reschedules must be made at least 12 hours before your appointment. If you fail to cancel in time or no-show, you will be charged 100% of your appointment cost. After three no-shows, you will no longer be able to book with us.

We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to perform the scheduled service. You will have the option to reduce the service to a “clean up” or “beard trim” or pay 50% of the original service cost before you book your next service.

You must be 4+ yrs old to get a haircut at MAILROOM. We have a limited waiting area and many sharp objects. For their safety, we require children to be 10+ yrs old to be left unattended while you get a haircut.

everything you need to know before your first visit to MAILROOM
where is MAILROOM located? is there parking?
we're at 1633-a east north st, greenville, south carolina 29607. you can park anywhere around the business or in the church parking lot across from clare's creamery.
what are your hours?
we're an appointment-based shop. our barbers typically take appointments 9am–5pm tuesday through friday and 10am–3pm on saturdays, and exact availability varies by barber. as long as you have an appointment, we're open! book here.
how do i book an appointment?
booking is easy: open our squire booking page, pick your barber, pick your service, and choose a time. you can book up to 30 days out.
do you take walk-ins?
we work by appointment, and our barbers book up fast — booking ahead is your best bet. that said, we don't turn anyone away if a barber has an open slot. text us at (864) 202-6981 to check same-day availability, or grab a spot online.
how much does a haircut cost at MAILROOM?
each barber sets their own prices based on experience and demand. a haircut ranges from $45 with our apprentices to $100 with the owner — the average haircut at MAILROOM is around $65. to see each barber's full pricing and services, click through each barber in our squire booking widget.
how far in advance should i book?
our barbers book up fast, and you can book up to 30 days out. if you want a specific barber or time slot, book as early as you can.

what services do you offer?
haircuts, skin fades, tapers, kids' cuts, long haircuts, transformations (long to short), beard trims, straight razor shaves, hot towel shaves, lineups, and hair designs. every barber's full menu and pricing is on our booking page.
do you cut kids' hair?
yes! we cut kids' hair at our greenville shop as long as they're at least 4 years old. book a kids' cut with any barber through our squire booking page.
do you cut women's hair?
we're a gender-neutral barbershop, so we cut all lengths and all types of hair. our barbers are experienced with long hair, short hair, curly hair, straight hair — you name it. everyone is welcome in our chairs.
do you cut Black hair / afro-textured hair?
yes! our barbers love cutting afro-textured hair and all curl types. we do skin fades, tapers, lineups, and designs, and we'll recommend the right products to keep your hair and scalp healthy.
do you cut curly hair?
our barbers cut curly hair of all types. we know how to work with curls so your hair doesn't get cut too short, and we'll suggest products to keep your curls happy and healthy.
what is a "long" haircut?
our barbers consider your hair long if the majority of it falls below your jaw and the final style will stay that length. going from long to short is what we call a transformation — a separate service you'll see on each barber's booking menu.
do you do fades?
yes — our barbers do skin fades (aka bald fades) all day long, along with tapers and everything in between. book a fade with any barber.
can you trim beards?
yes! we trim beards of all lengths and finish every beard service with a straight razor shave of the outlines, so you leave looking sharp and cleaned up.
do you do hot towel shaves?
yes — a hot towel shave is included with every service at MAILROOM.
do you do hair designs or lineups?
yes, designs and lineups are part of our standard services. if the design work is extremely complex, we may book additional time for it — just mention it when you book.
what forms of payment do you accept? should i tip?
we take tap, swipe, card, cash, apple pay, and all major forms of payment. tipping is never required but always appreciated — 20% is the industry standard.
do you offer gift cards?
yes, we sell gift cards! ask your barber at your next visit or reach out to the shop.
do you do wedding or groom party bookings?

do you sell grooming products?
yes — we sell MAILROOM grooming products, handmade and designed in-house by our barbers. pick them up in the shop or order online.
