The Mailroom Barbershop and Studio Salon

The Mailroom Barber & Studio introduces new faces to the shop

October 03, 2017

Business has doubled since the opening of The Mailroom Barber & Studio in November 2016. To answer this quick demand, they recently hired three new people to help in each area of the business. Cameron Porter serves as the new production manager, handling creation, shipping, and R&D for their grooming line. He brings a creativity and structure to the production side that promotes order and keeps production in motion. Kayla Bermeo has joined The Studio working alongside Molly Norton with coloring and styling. Bermeo is a cosmetologist and SC Native who studied in Manhattan at the Aveda institute. Master Barber, Rob Bispo joined Watkins on the barbershop side to help keep up with business. He’s a New Jersey Native who’s lived in the South for nearly 15 years and has a few years of barbering experience under his belt. Watkins and Bispo came together over their shared interest in reviving traditional barbering.

Robert Watkins and Molly Norton opened The Mailroom Barber & Studio with a mission to create an inviting, inclusive space where they could build a community to foster deep relationships with clients. They have started a community blog, hosted coffee and beer pop-ups, and invited guest barbers periodically to build the sense of community and closeness with their customers that is the heart of the shop. They have their own line of grooming products that are made by hand, in house using 100% ethically sourced ingredients and packaging.

Now that there is a full staff at The Mailroom, they plan to further their mission and pick up the pace by welcoming new clients into the space to experience the barbershop & studio and receive the service they have been looking for in a salon or barbershop.
