Staff Interview: Get to Know Kayla Bermeo

June 13, 2019

The Mailroom recently celebrated our 1 year anniversary in downtown Florence and our team continues to grow! We've been letting you get to know our staff over the past couple of months and today we'd like to introduce you to Kayla Bermeo.

Kayla is a licensed cosmetologist who studied at the Aveda Institute in Manhattan, NY. She worked as an apprentice before moving back to Florence in 2015. During her free time she enjoys traveling and going to Hockey games. When she grows up she wants to be as awesome as her dog!

What is your favorite product to use when styling your client’s hair?  I would have to go with Verb's dry oil. It adds so much shine without weighing the hair down.

How long have you been doing hair? 4 years.

What’s your favorite thing about cutting/doing someone’s hair? Definitely being able to see how much better they feel afterwards.

What is a new trend or style you see developing?  Icy Blonde has been a trend for a while, but I just think it continues to gain popularity.

What’s your favorite style to create? Balayage - highlights/lowlights. It's so natural and still looks beautiful and blended as it grows out.

What’s something your clients may not know about you that you’d like to share?  I have a pet goat named Ben.

If you were a type of beer, what brew would you be and why? Probably Sour. No particular reason other than it's my favorite.

What makes you feel fully alive? A hobby, a moment? Traveling! I guess that's why I'm so addicted to it. I just love exploring and experiencing a new place.

What’s your spirit animal?  I'd have to go with an Otter.

Where are you from? I've moved around a ton so this question is always tough but i was born in Newark NJ

What’s one thing you’re looking forward to in 2019? I'll be getting married this year!

If we looked at your iTunes frequently played playlist, which songs would be in your top 5?  My music choices are constantly changing, so i'll just give you the
artists that I've been listening to the most right now: Johnny Swim,
City and Colour,  and Need To Breathe

Next time you're in to see us stop by and say hello to Kayla!
